Who You'll Be Working With
Join the dedicated Work, Health, Safety & Wellbeing team within Hunter New England Local Health District. You'll work closely with managers, payroll, and our TMF insurer to support injured workers and ensure accurate, timely wage and claim management. Located in the heart of Waratah, you'll enjoy the convenience of being within walking distance to shops, cafés, and public transport, plus free parking, making your workday easier and your breaks more enjoyable.
About The Role
This role is central to managing workers compensation wage transactions, monitoring the progress of claims, and ensuring legislative timeframes are met. You'll play an important part in helping injured workers receive the correct entitlements while supporting the organisation in maintaining compliance and securing timely reimbursements.
What You'll Be Doing
Lodging new workers compensation claims promptly and accurately
Reviewing Certificates of Capacity and all relevant information to calculate entitlements
Processing workers compensation wage payments and updating liability information in HNE systems
Providing key data to managers for accurate roster updates
Supplying precise information to the TMF insurer to support reimbursement
Responding to complex wage enquiries with confidence and clarity
About You
You have strong knowledge of NSW Workers Compensation legislation, particularly around wage entitlements, and experience calculating Pre-Injury Average Weekly Earnings (PIAWE). You're confident using payroll and staff management systems, and you thrive in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. Your exceptional attention to detail, along with your communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, allows you to work effectively with a range of stakeholders while delivering accurate, high-quality work.
