Pallas Capital is a debt and equity fund manager specialising in the financing of Australian and New Zealand Commercial Real Estate. The business was established in direct response to the growing lack of credit in Australia's mid-range property market; a situation exacerbated by the shortage of reputable, risk-adverse, non-bank lenders.
Fortis our property development management business, has a portfolio of more than $750 million in successfully completed residential and commercial projects, with a further $560 million to be completed by the end of the year.
Due to continued growth at Pallas Capital, we are seeking a Senior Associate to join our Origination team in the Perth office. The role focuses on assessing real estate lending opportunities and providing insights that support credit approval, ensuring decisions align with Pallas' risk appetite and investor expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse a diverse range of real estate lending opportunities
* Analyse valuations, QS reports and financial accounts
* Prepare detailed project feasibilities and cashflows
* Draft Indicative Term Sheets and Offer Letters
* Conduct market research, data analytics and trends reporting on debt markets and real estate
* Prepare Conditions Precedent checklists
* Assist the in-house legal team with the preparation of legal documentation, consultant due diligence reports and draw downs, risk management and treasury management
* Support the continuous improvement of underwriting processes, templates, tools, and procedures
* Support the Origination team in the ongoing assessment of lending opportunities within Pallas' risk appetite
* Prepare investor memorandums on emerging market themes and general presentations
* Support the Distribution team on capital raising initiatives
* Conduct market analysis and research on debt markets and real estate
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Credit, Loan Management, Origination and Distribution teams as well as the broader Pallas Group
* Share learnings and help other members of the team as required
* Desire to be part of a high-performing, growing team and have the ability to operate in an agile, fast paced environment
About You
* Tertiary experience in finance, business or a property related discipline
* Bring relevant postgraduate studies such as CFA, CA, MBA, FINSIA or a Master's in finance (highly regarded)
* Bring previous experience in financial services (banks, financial institutions, private investment firms / groups or related professional)
* Have 3+ years in construction credit analysis and financial modelling
* Demonstrate advanced numerical and excel skills
* Possess strong knowledge of commercial real estate across multiple asset classes.
* Exhibit strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Manage and influence stakeholders effectively
* Adopt a continual improvement mindset while being agile and deal focused
