About the Role

We are seeking
two highly experienced Test and Evaluation (T&E) Specialists – Level 3 Advanced Practitioners
to support the
Defence Intelligence Group (DIG)
.

You'll deliver advanced T&E services across a large capability portfolio covering:

3 major programs

13 projects

10 intelligence products

Your work will be central to ensuring Defence capability outcomes are validated, assured, and future-ready.

This role is about more than testing—it's about shaping capability, providing governance and assurance, and ensuring that our Defence partners are equipped with trusted, cyber-worthy systems.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Coordination

* Develop and maintain a
monthly T&E Work Plan
for Commonwealth approval
* Manage forward schedules of T&E activities
* Prioritise and coordinate complex T&E events across multiple projects

T&E Execution

* Conduct
Preview T&E (PT&E)
and
Operational T&E (OT&E)
* Review and evaluate
T&E Master Plans (TEMP)
* Assess
Capability Definition Documents (CDD)
and provide technical advice
* Provide assurance oversight of accountable units
* Support trial planning, conduct, and post-trial reporting

Policy, Advice & Governance

* Provide expert T&E guidance and assurance to projects and programs
* Contribute to DIG and Defence T&E policy development
* Develop, review, and endorse SOPs, templates, and Defence artefacts
* Represent DIG in program and project governance forums

Stakeholder Engagement

* Liaise with program, project, and product stakeholders across Defence
* Deliver workshops and presentations on:
* TEMP development and reviews
* Cyber worthiness evidence
* Accreditation and certification alignment
* Best practice T&E processes

Documentation & Reporting

* Submit
T&E Monthly Work Plans
and
Progress Reports
* Maintain registers, meeting records, and trial documentation
* Manage prototype delivery and provide supporting documentation

Key Deliverables

* T&E Monthly Work Plan
* Draft due within 10 working days of commencement
* Monthly updates due 3 working days before month end
* Final version due within 3 working days of Commonwealth feedback
* Monthly Progress Reports
* Due within 5 working days of each month's end
* Must include progress, deliverables, risks, and issues

Performance will be assessed under the
DSS Panel Deed performance framework
for timeliness, quality, and responsiveness.

What We're Looking For

Essential Criteria

Demonstrated experience as a
Level 3 Advanced Practitioner
in T&E

Strong systems/software engineering background with V&V experience

Deep understanding of
ODCS
and
DTEM
frameworks

Proven experience reviewing and producing:

* TEMP
* CDD
* SOPs and Defence artefacts
* Governance and assurance expertise in a Defence setting
* High-level written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and advisory skills

Desirable Criteria

Experience with intelligence capability projects

Involvement in cyber worthiness and accreditation

Experience with prototypes and emerging technology

Security & Conditions of Engagement

This role is subject to strict security requirements:

* Must be an Australian Citizen
* Minimum NV1 clearance

* Must undergo and pass the
Defence Intelligence Suitability Assessment (DISA)
* Must complete all DIG mandatory training
* Must comply with the
Commonwealth Supplier Code of Conduct (2024)
