Working alongside experienced pharmacists, technicians and multidisciplinary clinicians, the team fosters a supportive environment that values professional development, safety, and continuous improvement. Together, they play a vital role in optimising medication management and improving health outcomes for the Tasmanian community.
The Role:
* Assist the Executive Director - Statewide Hospital Pharmacy Operations, to provide an efficient, effective, and consistent pharmacy service to the Southern region of Tasmania.
* Work with a high level of autonomy and initiative to manage local pharmacy processes at the site under the supervision of the Executive Director - Statewide Hospital Pharmacy Operations.
* Provide clinical and administrative oversight of pharmacy operations at the site, including teaching, research, dispensing, manufacturing, stores, and clinical pharmacy.
* Provide leadership to pharmacy staff working at the site to ensure that statewide directions and initiatives are implemented at the site.
* Provide effective management of human, physical, and financial resources at the site.
* Collaborate with other Pharmacy Site Managers across the State, and staff within the Southern region of Tasmania, to ensure clinical and administrative needs are met.
Qualifications (You will need to):
* Assist the Executive Director - Statewide Hospital Pharmacy Operations with the general management of the Pharmacy Service.
* Provide operational oversight of hospital pharmacy practice undertaken at the site, including dispensing, manufacturing, stores, clinical pharmacy, research and teaching, clinical trials, and related services.
* Directly supervise the Supervisory Pharmacists, Stores Managers and Specialist Pharmacists (as appropriate).
Essential Qualifications:
Registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
Salary:
$154,145 to $156,115 per annum. Employer 12% superannuation contribution on top.
Salary Packaging:
Salary package includes benefits such as living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment and other benefits if eligible.
Allowances:
* Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.
* Market allowance of $10,000 per annum pro rata.

Position Features:
* Frequent intrastate travel and some interstate travel will be required.
* Participation in an on-call roster with other pharmacists for out-of-hours provision of pharmacy services, as needed.
* Remain on-call as necessary in severe situations (e.g. Pandemic, Code Brown).
Details of appointment:
Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of twelve months.
