At C-Wise, we're creating a better, more sustainable Australia. Not because it gives us the warm and fuzzies, but because we have to - it's that important.
For almost 30 years, our Western Australian-owned company has been recycling organic carbon to create environmental and economic benefits for farms, agriculture and communities. Our smart, natural solutions enable our customers to make organic carbon an integral part of their operations. That means healthier soil, improved crop production and profits, and a better environment for us all.
We're proud of what we've achieved so far, and now, we're ready for even more growth. That's why we need you.
Your Opportunity:
As our highly valued Agronomist – Customer Facing, you'll use your technical expertise and commitment to sustainable agriculture to be the face of our business development in the agriculture market.
This is a field-first role where your agricultural knowledge really matters. This is not a desk job, you will spend your time in the field working alongside growers, running trials that make a difference to how farmers operate.
In this role, you'll make a real impact by being the boots on the ground link between our sales team and the farmers who depend on our knowledge:
* Designing and implementing commercial trials including all planning aspects to data collection, analysing and reporting.
* Expanding the C-Wise footprint in the agriculture market, developing and nurturing relationships with industry stakeholders and primary producers. Many times, you'll be a disruptor – it won't be easy.
* Assisting with soil nutrition analysis and interpretation, being able to feedback to the grower in their own language, real workable options that fit their soil nutrition and production criteria.
* Assisting with development and implementation of demonstration sites, field walks and trials of C-Wise products. This is ambassadorial-type work, critical to the company's and product's credibility.
What you'll bring:
Here's what really matters to us:
* Tertiary qualifications in rural science, agronomy, or related degree – the foundational knowledge.
* An agriculture/viticulture/horticulture background – be able to talk the customer's language.
* Some experience in field trial work. While any background in field trials is a plus, we value the solid foundation that even a little experience provides. Whether you've managed a few plots or a full season, that hands-on knowledge is a valuable starting point.
* Experience in a sales and business development role – you'll appreciate that sales is a science, riddled with complex processes that require methodical analysis and diligent execution, and they don't always work. This is an early career role – we will develop your existing sales skills.
* Hold Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency and a full driving license – this role will require extensive travel within Western Australia.
We would also love you to have:
Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, so you can nurture positive relationships with our customers and your team. Much of sales is an exchange of information, both parties on an equal footing.
* A fervour for soil science and a strong desire to contribute to sustainable agriculture. As you gain familiarity with the business and the products, we encourage you to reveal your creative and innovative side.
We welcome experience from a wide range of backgrounds, including agricultural trials, scientific research, general field-based work. and we welcome applications from more-experienced sales and business development agronomists.
