Rooty Hill High School is a co-educational, comprehensive school in western Sydney with a current enrolment of 1100 students from Years 7-12. Over 50% of the students enrolled are from a non-English speaking background, including a large number of families from Asia and the Pacific. There is a significant enrolment of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students (over 5%).
The school is committed to promoting its cultural and linguistic diversity and has strong academic and socio-cultural platforms that are enhanced by a broad academic curriculum, a strong vocational program and the opportunity for students to participate in a wide range of activities. The CAPA faculty is responsible for the teaching and assessment of Visual Art, Visual Design, Music, Drama and Photography.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Approval to teach Visual Arts. Approval or willing to teach Visual Design. 
- Ability to work collaboratively with members of the CAPA faculty to develop, implement and evaluate innovative teaching and learning programs. 
- Evidence of effective classroom practice and demonstrated ability to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that meet the diverse needs of a range of students. 
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive relationships with students, staff and the wider community.
