About Us
Mick’s Meat Barn is a whole-carcass retail butchery specialising in pasture-fed beef (direct from the farmer), free-range chicken, lamb and pork. We’re proudly retail-focused, with a loyal customer base and a growing reputation for quality on the Sunshine Coast.
We’re located at Kawana Waters and are open 7 days — availability for at least one weekend day is essential.
About the Role
This position is primarily front-of-shop and retail focused.
Your main responsibilities will include:
* Serving customers and providing knowledgeable advice
* Preparing and maintaining an attractive, well-stocked display cabinet
* Cutting and portioning meat for retail sale
* Value-adding and preparing products for the display case
* Ensuring presentation, cleanliness and food safety standards are maintained
This is not primarily a heavy breakdown role — it’s ideal for a qualified butcher who enjoys customer interaction and takes pride in presentation.
About You
* Trade qualified butcher
* Minimum 3 years’ experience preferred
* Confident serving and engaging with customers
* Strong knife skills for retail cutting and portioning
* Well-presented and professional
* Takes pride in quality, cleanliness and consistency
You’ll be someone who enjoys talking cooking methods, helping customers choose the right cut, and being part of a tight-knit team.
