Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance, field servicing, fault finding, and repairs on a wide range of equipment, including trucks, floats, light vehicles, and heavy earthmoving plant.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Promote continuous improvement in safe work practices, adhering to workshop rules and regulations at all times.
2. Communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, and team members daily, diagnosing and repairing faults thoroughly.
3. Service and maintain equipment within the plant and truck fleet, working efficiently within tight schedules while maintaining high standards.
4. Implement and follow Lean practices to ensure quality and cost efficiency in repairs and maintenance.
5. Assist with planning and maintaining service schedules, coordinating with suppliers to source parts based on quality and cost-effectiveness.
6. Maintain company tools and equipment, taking ownership of major repairs and working efficiently while keeping the work environment clean and safe.
Requirements:
* Hold at least 2 years of experience as a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
* Possess sound knowledge of drivetrain, brakes, and suspension systems.
* Have basic auto electrical knowledge.
* Be competent with computers and digital diagnostics tools.
