Capital Linen Service (CLS), part of City and Environment Directorate (CED), is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician – Electrical to join our dedicated maintenance team. Why Join Us? About the Role This hands-on role supports laundry operations by ensuring a safe and efficient production environment through effective reactive and preventative maintenance. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll work collaboratively with operational staff to minimise downtime and maintain high standards of service delivery. Key Responsibilities Perform reactive and preventative maintenance on industrial laundry equipment Investigate breakdowns, identify causes, and carry out timely repairs Conduct routine inspections and support continuous improvement initiatives Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure operational continuity Maintain accurate records in the MEX system and provide status updates Support spare parts inventory and assist with maintenance-related projects Uphold WHS standards and contribute to a safe working environment We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. Eligibility/Other requirements: What You Require Recognised trade or tertiary qualification in an electrical field Experience in a commercial laundry or similar industrial setting Strong judgement in prioritising maintenance tasks with minimal disruption Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Commitment to safety, respect, and positive workplace culture C Class Driver’s Licence essential Availability for morning/afternoon shifts, overtime, weekends and public holidays Pre-employment medical required Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
