The opportunity We are seeking a dedicated psychiatrist with an interest in rural and Indigenous mental health.
This is a permanent, full-time role based at Townsville University Hospital.
The incumbent will provide community and inpatient care to consumers from rural areas, including Palm Island.

What's on offer?Remuneration package of up to $536,916 p.a., comprising base salary range of $210,332 - $266,677 p.a.

About the role As a Staff Specialist – Consultant Psychiatrist, you will: Provide advanced clinical care for individuals with psychiatric, emotion, and behavioural disturbances, including those treated un the Mental Health Act.
Deliver high-quality clinical and non-clinical services, including research and training future health professionals.
Work in collegial, multidisciplinary team settings with strong peer and operational support.
Lead and manage medical services across hospital, community, and outreach settings.
Specialise in Adult Mental Health Services for rural consumers.
Role requirements Qualifications in Psychiatry, recognised by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
Current registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.
