Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Lawyer, Educator to join our team in Alice Springs, NT.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver legal advice, case work and referrals to students and families
* Prepare and facilitate tailored community legal education sessions
* Provide legal support in partnership with the School Wellbeing Team
* Conduct remote outreach to engage with and support regional schools
* Advocate in collaboration with school and CAWLS colleagues
* Collect and analyze case data using internal systems
* Support school staff to respond to DFSV disclosures and access barriers
Requirements
To be eligible for this role, you will need to hold a Practising Certificate in the Northern Territory. Experience in legal practice, particularly with vulnerable youth or in school/community settings, will be highly regarded.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience working in legal settings relevant to DFSV, family or youth law
* Experience delivering legal education or community programs in schools
* Ability to develop tailored legal education and training resources
* Familiarity with CALD and First Nations communities
* Strong understanding of legal, economic and social barriers facing youth
