About the role:
Our client is a large diversified Professional Services organisation with diversified Financial Services focus, who are looking for a Senior Tax Reporting Manager to join it's regional finance function, supporting operations across the Pacific.
Reporting into the regional controllership function, you will be accountable for the accurate and timely delivery of tax-related financial information, statutory reporting and tax compliance obligations across the Pacific region.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing local income tax and indirect tax compliance (including income tax, GST/VAT, FBT, withholding taxes and other local levies) across Australia, New Zealand and selected Pacific jurisdictions
* Preparing and reviewing tax calculations, schedules and reporting packages under US GAAP
* Ownership of tax disclosures for consolidated and statutory financial statements
* Oversight of monthly, quarterly and annual tax reporting, including review of journals, balance sheet reconciliations and commentary
* Leading relationships with onshore and offshore teams involved in tax reporting activities
* Supporting revenue authority reviews and audits
* Providing tax technical support on routine matters and contributing to more complex advisory work in partnership with a global tax function
* Managing transfer pricing calculations and ensuring compliance with global policies
* Driving continuous improvement across tax processes, controls and documentation
* Acting as the local tax SME for systems implementations and upgrades
* Liaising with external tax advisors to ensure compliance and filing deadlines are met
You will bring:
* 10+ years' experience in tax compliance and reporting roles
* Strong Australian tax compliance and tax accounting experience
* Background in a Big 4 or mid-tier firm, and/or large corporate environment
* Exposure to both direct and indirect taxes (ANZ experience highly regarded)
* Experience preparing tax reporting for statutory financial statements
* Working knowledge of US GAAP is preferable but not essential, along with IFRS working knowledge.
* Proven stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leaders
* Experience leading or collaborating with offshore teams
* A proactive, hands-on mindset with strong organisational and problem-solving skills
