About the Role
Experis is partnering with a Federal Government agency to source a Junior APS 6 Python Developer for a 12-month non-ongoing contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a critical digital transformation project involving the migration of a legacy on-premise platform to a modern cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the development and deployment of applications using Python and Django.
* Participate in the full software development lifecycle - from analysis and design through to deployment and support.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, testers, and DevOps engineers.
* Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
* Assist with cloud migration activities and platform modernisation.
* Apply CI/CD best practices in Azure DevOps environments.
* Provide technical input to design and architecture discussions.
Key Skills and Experience
* At least 1 year of hands-on experience developing with Python and Django .
* JavaScript or React development experience.
* Proven experience completing at least one end-to-end project using Django and Python.
* Exposure to or experience working in a Federal Government environment (desirable).
* Experience with CI/CD pipeline deployments using Azure DevOps .
* Azure Developer Associate Certification (highly desirable).
* Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, with basic knowledge of Chemistry (desirable).

Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with Python and Django
Experience with JavaScript or React

Azure Developer Associate Certification (highly desirable)
Experience working in or exposure to Federal Government environments (desirable)
Tertiary qualification in Computer Science
