The Suncoast Clippers Basketball Association is entering a defining period of expansion, with the imminent delivery of three new courts and significant participation growth ahead.
We are seeking a commercially astute and highly driven General Manager to lead the organisation through this transformation—building capability, driving revenue, and positioning the club as a leading regional sporting organisation.
This is not a maintenance role. This is a leadership role for someone who knows how to scale.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Board, you will take full ownership of the club's performance—strategic, operational, and financial. You will lead the transition from a community-based operation to a structured, growth-focused organisation capable of maximising new infrastructure, increasing participation, and delivering long-term financial sustainability.
Key Accountabilities
* Lead and execute a clear growth strategy aligned to new facility capacity
* Build a financially sustainable and commercially focused organisation
* Drive revenue across competitions, programs, partnerships, and ancillary operations
* Establish and maintain high-level relationships with local, state, and federal government stakeholders
* Work closely with councils and partners on facility utilisation, planning, and future expansion
* Oversee all operations including competitions, programs, staffing, and canteen/venue activity
* Build, lead, and performance-manage a capable and accountable team
* Implement strong governance, reporting, and operational discipline
* Identify and capitalise on new commercial and community opportunities
About You
You are a proven executive who has led organisations through periods of growth, complexity, or transformation. You bring a strong commercial mindset, understand how to build structure and accountability, and are equally focused on results and culture. You know that high-performing organisations are built not only on strategy and systems, but on the standards, behaviours, and environment set by leadership.
You will demonstrate:
* Proven experience in a senior leadership or General Manager role
* Strong financial and commercial acumen, including working within budgets, KPI's and revenue growth
* Experience working with government, funding bodies, or major stakeholders
* A track record of scaling operations, teams, or facilities
* The ability to bring structure, discipline, and clarity to a growing organisation
* Confident leadership style with the ability to make decisions and drive outcomes
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
