Are you ready to take the first step into the transport industry? We are offering a unique opportunity for a motivated and safety-focused individual to join our team as a Transport Apprentice. Over 24 months, you'll gain hands-on experience, develop essential skills, and work towards earning your Heavy Combination (HC) driver licence, setting you up for a successful long-term career with MJ Mahon Transport.
What You'll Do:
* Assist experienced drivers with day-to-day transport operations
* Complete nationally recognised training in transport – Certificate III in Driving Operations.
* Learn to operate, clean and maintain various types of vehicles and equipment including having access to a fully maintained company utility vehicle during working hours
* Conduct minor vehicle Safety Inspections
* Conduct minor mechanical repairs
* Distribution of Truck fuel and additives
* Undertake safe loading and unloading
* Gain real-world driving experience under supervision
* Progress toward gaining a Forklift, MR ,HR and HC licence with full company support
What We're Looking For:
* A genuine interest in the transport industry
* A current, clean and valid driver's licence (minimum Green Provisional Licence)
* Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures
* A strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
* Ability to follow instructions and work in a team
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Proven customer service skills
* IT skills – Microsoft office
