Your New Role:
One of our Government Clients is looking for an Infrastructure Project Manager to work on a massive project right from the project initiation to its delivery. The project is focused on investigating different technological solutions to improve their operational communications across various government departments across Queensland.
The senior project manager needs to have previously worked on infrastructure, network and technology projects and using their strong project management skills to help in providing strategic decision making towards choosing the right future technology for the department.
Its an initial 9 month contract with multiple further extensions attached to it given the scope of the project.
Your responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:
4. Actively participating in risk and issue assessment and mitigation activities ensuring risks and issues are documented, reviewed, and escalated as appropriate.
5. Reporting on project components including schedules, interdependencies, plan development, benefits management, assurance, and communication activities.
6. Initiating, influencing, and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders including government agencies to coordinate project meetings, briefings, expectation management and feedback mechanisms
7. Adhering to policies, procedures and standards and high-quality practices including version control management
8. Providing strong infrastructure knowledge and support to the team so that the projects move in the right direction.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
9. Have previously worked on Infrastructure, network and technology-focused projects.
10. Have experience working with managed service providers.
11. Have about 8 + years of project management experience.
12. Experience in identifying, developing, and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships, including relationships with other agencies and industry.
13. Strong stakeholder management skills and understanding of government project governance, procurement and assurance requirements
