Senior Curator, Community Engagement
We are seeking a Senior Curator to join our team at the History Trust of South Australia.
The successful candidate will contribute to the planning, research, and development of projects and programs with a focus on community engagement.
The Senior Curator, Community Engagement, will be responsible for:
Developing links with the South Australian history network and providing advice and assistance on the engagement with and management of historical collections.
Advocating for local, regional, and specialist museums and collections at the local, state, and national level.
Developing collaborative relationships with other history and museums-related agencies and organizations.
Providing skilled advice and assistance on issues relating to community-based collections.
Developing and coordinating engagement projects and initiatives to support the South Australian history network.
Developing and delivering content through online and digital platforms, including social media.
Raising the profile of South Australian history and promoting the History Trust's role in the preservation and interpretation of regional, local, and specialist collections.
Promoting the use of digital tools and methods to broaden engagement with the South Australian history network.
Essential Qualifications:
A degree in History, Museum Studies, or a related field is required.
Special Conditions:
Some out-of-hours work may be required, including occasional weekend work.
A satisfactory Department of Human Services Working with Children Check is required.
Intrastate and interstate travel may be required, and a current driver's license is essential.
