**Key Responsibilities**:
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine job, material and equipment requirements
- Select appropriate materials and tools for each job
- Using templates and reference points and other instruments to mark out metal stock
- Safely and with precision using hand and power shears, guillotines and drills to cut out metal stock
- Using folding and bending machines, rollers, presses and hammers to shape and form cut metal stock into products
- Assembling components into final products by welding, riveting, soldering, brazing and otherwise joining
- Producing high-quality final products by polishing, filing, sanding and cleaning assembled products
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others, promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
**Education, Experience & Skills**
- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
- Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Trades Worker or similar role (minimum 2 years)
- Ability to operate sheet metal machinery such as guillotines, press brakes, and rollers
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
**Work Environment**:
- The position is located in the north-western suburbs and operates in a manufacturing environment.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as required.
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
