Authentic STEPS is seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Worker to join our team. The Youth Worker will be responsible for supporting and guiding young people in building resilience, mental well-being, and personal development. This role involves working with youth in individual and group settings, delivering programs and fostering positive relationships to create a safe and empowering environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Deliver youth-focused programs and activities aimed at promoting mental health, personal development, and life skills.
- Provide individual and group support for young people, assisting them with challenges related to school, family, social issues, and mental well-being.
- Collaborate with other team members and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for youth and families.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, encouraging a safe and supportive environment.
- Work in partnership with families and communities to enhance the well-being of young individuals.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and professional development opportunities.
**Requirements or willing to obtain**:
- Hold a Certificate IV or Diploma in Youth Work or Education
- Proven experience in youth or community work, counseling, or education.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with others.
- Current valid driver's license.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
- A genuine passion for helping young people and making a positive impact in their lives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and be flexible in approach.

Expected hours: 2 - 38 per week

**Experience**:
- Youth work: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- First Aid Certification and CPR (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)
