The Northern Cancer Service provides comprehensive and integrated cancer care, offering cutting-edge medical oncology, radiation oncology, and haematology services to a population of approximately 250,000 people across Northern Tasmania.
* The service operates radiation therapy sites in both Launceston and Burnie.
* The facility has the capacity to operate up to three linear accelerators.
Advanced Techniques & Specialised Services:
* Stereotactic Therapy is used to treat various types of cancers.
* Brachytherapy Service: Launceston provides Brachytherapy services for the entire state of Tasmania.
* The modern Brachytherapy Suite was upgraded last year with new HDR equipment, providing exciting opportunities for innovative treatments.
Research & Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
* The clinical trials and research unit runs a range of Phase 2 & 3 trials.
