About The Role
We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our Global Supply Chain team in Tullamarine. This role plays a critical part in improving safety, quality and operational efficiency by developing, implementing and optimising products, processes and systems across the manufacturing environment to reduce costs and improve performance. You'll leverage engineering skillset and problem‐solving mindset to ensure our products, processes and systems comply with company standards and customer specifications. You'll also lead and support process improvements, product and process changes, and new product introductions (NPI), while acting as a key technical member of the site team, supporting both internal stakeholders and external customer requirements.
What You'll Do
* Lead safety assessments and follow through on the implementation of recommendations for new equipment and procedures. Cooperate with the company to comply with Acts, Regulations and company safety policies.
* With the guidance of T&I, plan and execute raw material substitutions, including coordination of subsequent testing of new product introduction or existing product modification trials on manufacturing equipment. Ensure DVP&R is signed by customers before commercial launch.
* Lead cross‐functional teams to manage and implement medium to large projects. Projects will include but not limited to product development, machinery upgrades & commissioning, process development and refinement, SOCs & SOPs development.
* Customer technical support for new / modified product introductions or product performance issues.
* Using LEAN and Six Sigma methodology and a close liaison with operations, lead cross‐functional teams to deliver measurable rate and yield improvement.
* Troubleshooting technical processing issues when operator experience exhausted.
* Develop SOCs for new products and processes and optimise SOCs to improve rate and yield on existing products.
* Implement process control methods and conduct process capability studies.
* New test method development.
* Write training materials and deliver training.
Skills, Experience & Attributes
* Experience in a Process and/or Project Engineer role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Ability to work within and lead cross‐functional teams.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in an ongoing, fast‐paced environment.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
* High level of personal organization and accountability.
* Willingness to travel intrastate, interstate or overseas for short periods.
Qualifications & Technical Knowledge
* 4 year Engineering or Technical degree.
* Six Sigma Training – Green or Black belt etc.
* Statistical Process Control (SPC).
* Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA).
* Root cause analysis (RCA).
