**About the Team**:
This role is within the Automation and Cloud Engineering (ACE) team, which is part of the Enterprise Services directorate.
The ACE team are responsible for supporting departmental systems in being more efficient, flexible and resilient by leveraging cloud technologies and automating routine tasks. By providing these services the team helps in reducing costs, boosting performance and allowing other operational and development teams to focus on delivery rather than day-to-day maintenance.
What are the key skill sets, focus areas and requirements for this role?
- Operational and Project Management Skills - You will be expected to be familiar with project management methodologies and can assist with the delivery of IT enabled projects whilst maintaining day-to-day operations.
- Technical Skills - As an IT leader, you will be expected to demonstrate proficiency across various IT disciplines including cloud platform, automation, Microsoft directory management, security and script development.
- Strong customer focus - You will be expected to demonstrate a strong customer focus by ensuring that all services are delivered with the customer in mind.
- Cyber security awareness - A strong awareness of cyber security practices is also required, ensuring that IT solutions are secure by design and align to the Department's cyber security strategy.
- Previous experience with ITIL and other IT framework experience, including incident, change and release management.
- Strategic Thinking - You will be expected to draw on your technical and business experience to make informed decisions aligned to the Department's goals.
- Strong Communications Skills - An ability to convey complex technical information in a manner that both technical and non-technical stakeholders will understand, across a variety of mediums.
- Leadership - You should foster collaboration, drive performance and inspire staff through effective management and leading by example.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to life learning - IT leadership demands meticulous attention to detail and a continuous commitment to lifelong learning. This ensures sustainable systems management and keeps pace with evolving capabilities.
