We're currently seeking an Assistant Facility Manager to support the day‑to‑day operation and presentation of a major retail asset, ensuring it is safe, compliant, well‑maintained and welcoming for all customers, retailers and guests.
About the role
Reporting to the Facility Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the operational performance of the asset by ensuring building services, contractors and facilities are managed to the highest standard. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role suited to someone who enjoys variety, problem‑solving and stakeholder engagement in a dynamic retail environment.
Key responsibilities
* Build strong, collaborative relationships with retailers, operators, Mirvac teams, suppliers and local stakeholders
* Assist with managing plant, equipment and building services in line with legislative requirements and lifecycle expectations
* Proactively manage cleaning and security contractors to ensure contractual and KPI obligations are met
* Coordinate reactive and planned maintenance, ensuring works are completed safely, on time and to a high standard
* Respond to hazards and issues logged via the Contractor Management System (CMS) or other channels
* Support tenancy fit‑outs and works in collaboration with the Tenancy Coordination team, minimising disruption and ensuring compliance
* Maintain a strong focus on customer and guest experience across all touchpoints
* Participate in an on‑call roster, including weekends and after‑hours support as required
About you
You are proactive, organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a high‑volume environment. You enjoy working collaboratively and take pride in maintaining safe, high‑quality assets.
You will bring:
* A trade qualification or relevant tertiary qualification
* Experience managing operational budgets on an accrual basis
* Demonstrated capability negotiating and enforcing contracts
* Strong understanding of Australian Standards, NCC, HSE, DDA and risk management principles
* High level of IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office
* A customer‑centric mindset and strong attention to detail, particularly in asset presentation
