Tasman Geotechnics is located in beautiful Launceston, and provides geotechnical services to leading builders, building designers, industrial and commercial development companies, government and urban land authorities, developers, and architects across all of Tasmania.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated field technician to join our laboratory and field investigation team immediately on a full-time permanent basis. As part of the laboratory and field investigation team you will provide in-house support to our engineers and geologists.
Your Role
* Operate our 4WD drilling rigs
* Liaise and consult with the Project Engineers & Geologists
* Conduct fieldwork and sampling in accordance with Company procedures
* Record and log findings from field investigations
* Conduct laboratory testing in accordance with Australian Standards test methods, Company procedures, instructions and manuals
* Follow all SWMS and WHS procedures
* Maintain, observe and take part in the statutory safety requirements
Eligibility Requirements
* High attention to detail and quality
* Practical implementation experience
* Self‐motivation and skills to work independently and alone
* Ability to work flexible hours (for example overnight stays if job site is too far from home, but no weekend work)
* Willingness to use new equipment and processes
* Proficiency in English and excellent communication skills
* Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
* Capability to carry out physical work in the field
* An ability to cope with competing priorities and deadlines
* Hold a current manual drivers licence
* 4WD and trailer driving experience preferred
* White Card
