The Role
Hudson has partnered with a federal government Authority seeing an experienced APS 6 Senior Adviser – Governance (FOI, Privacy, & Legal Services) interested in a 6-month non-ongoing contract or S26 transfer.

Duties
- Assist with the FOI processes by logging, maintaining records, collating documents, and preparing draft correspondence under the direction of the EL1.
- Provide support for the Authority’s privacy obligations, including maintaining records, assisting with privacy impact assessments, and staff awareness.
- Support the EL1 in the coordination of external legal services, including managing the legal advice register, and supporting legal expenditure reporting.
- Contribute to corporate reporting activities, including the Annual Report, Corporate Plan, and Performance Frameworks.
- Maintain and triage governance mailboxes, ensuring timely allocation and response to enquiries.
- Manage information and records management compliance and collaborate with external government entities to ensure legislative obligations are met.
- Complete secretariat duties to support the management of the Audit and Risk Committee and monitor the progress of internal audits.
- Provide governance and administrative support across the team, including assisting with registers, frameworks, and committee papers as directed.
Do You Have?
- Knowledge of FOI and Privacy legislation, and experience supporting FOI or coordinating external legal providers in a government setting.
- Strong written and communication skills, including the ability to draft clear and accurate correspondence and records.
- Solid organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple inputs and meet deadlines.
- High level of discretion and judgement when handling sensitive and confidential matters.
- Assistant Directors and advisors across the team to deliver governance priorities.

Casual Loading
