Project Officer
BioGrid Australia – The Royal Melbourne Hospital
* Looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join the BioGrid team working for the Australian Rare Cancer Portal.
* Part Time, Fixed Term position (funded until 30 June 2029 under a grant from the Australian Government).
* Experienced Project Officer required to support administration and operation of the Australian Rare Cancer (ARC) Portal online referral service for clinicians.
Your Opportunity
* Administer the ARC Portal online referral service to support referring clinicians with the recruitment and triaging of rural and regional rare cancer patients according to recruitment milestones.
* Strengthen high quality collaborations between project partners including BioGrid Australia, Cancer Alliance Queensland, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Rare Cancers Australia, Sunshine Coast University Hospital and others to facilitate patient referrals to the ARC Portal.
* Develop expertise in understanding database development and usage to support evaluation of the ARC Portal to ensure sufficient data collection to enable analyses of ARC Portal outcomes.
* Provide ongoing management of the ethics and governance approvals required for the ARC Portal and associated projects.
* Contribute to the development and review of business processes utilising JIRA and Confluence.
About You
* Formal qualifications of a Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
* Experience and knowledge working in a health/biomedical science environment.
* Experience preparing and submitting Human Research Ethics Committee applications and reporting.
* Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills (verbal and written) including team and client relationship management.
* Excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills with ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities under pressure.
* Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision.
* Knowledge and understanding of Government, hospital and research institute policies, procedures, practices and resources.
* Working knowledge of statistics, optimisation, visualisation and other mathematical techniques for data analysis.
