We're partnering with a financial services organisation embarking on a greenfield digital program to build modern, secure, and accessible web experiences from the ground up.
This is a contract position where you will join early, influence UI architecture and standards, and work on customer-facing platforms where quality, performance, and accessibility genuinely matter.
You'll be working alongside senior engineers, architects, and product leaders in a delivery-focused environment that values clean design, strong engineering principles, and autonomy.
What You'll Be Doing
Designing and building modern, reusable Web UI components for a greenfield platform
Developing high-quality, performant front-end applications using Web Components and modern JavaScript frameworks
Collaborating with backend and API teams to integrate with RESTful services
Establishing and contributing to UI standards, patterns, and component libraries (e.g. Storybook)
Writing unit tests and ensuring high levels of code quality and maintainability
Ensuring applications meet accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1)
Applying secure coding practices appropriate for a financial services environment
Contributing to monitoring and observability for front-end applications
Working closely with product, design, and engineering stakeholders in an agile delivery model
What We're Looking For
Web Components frameworks: Lit, Polymer, or equivalent
Modern UI frameworks: React, Vue, or Angular
JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3
HTTP & RESTful APIs
Unit testing: Web Test Runner, Karma (or similar)
Storybook or component-driven development
Accessibility principles - WCAG 2.1
Secure coding practices in regulated environments
Monitoring / observability concepts for front-end applications
Azure (experience deploying or operating front-end workloads in Azure environments)
