What you'll be doing
The Clinical/ Midwifery Nurse Consultant will provide expert clinical care and education to children and their families within a defined speciality.
The role provides a consultancy and educational focus for ward based nurses in the care of children and their families. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) Grade 1 Diabetes will provide expert clinical care and education to children and their families within the endocrinology/diabetes speciality. Key components of the role are to provide expert clinical care for children and parents engaging in the various diabetes education programs, provision of clinical expertise in the support and education of ward-based nurses and conducting nurse-led diabetes review clinic.
In collaboration and consultation with key stakeholders, the CNC1 Diabetes will undertake primary responsibility for ongoing identification, development and evaluation of clinical practice at a local and network level.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
* Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a minimum of 5 years full time post qualification experience.
* Relevant approved post registration qualification in field of practice or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation
* Proven clinical leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice
