Community Engagement Worker Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support vulnerable individuals, identify safety issues, and reduce alcohol-related violence in the Night Outreach program.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide a safe and supportive environment for intoxicated and vulnerable individuals during night shifts.
* Maintain accurate records of client interactions and service provision.
* Offer first aid if required and facilitate referrals to services such as ambulance, police, hospitals, child safety, and sexual assault services.
* Provide precinct information (toilets, taxi ranks) and support as needed.
Requirements:
* Able to maintain accurate records of client interactions and service provision.
* Ability to work night shifts.
* A high level of commitment to the values of Anglicare North Queensland.
* Ability to handle difficult situations.
* Prior experience working with people under the influence of alcohol and other drugs highly regarded.
* Experience providing first aid highly regarded.
* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families, and communities highly regarded.
* Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds highly regarded.
Compliance:
* A current QLD driver's licence 'Class C' or interstate equivalent.
* Blue Card (Working with children card).
* A current national Police Check (within the last 3 months).
* Current First Aid & CPR Certifications.
