Building Technical Advisor – Perth, Permanent Full-time role within the Consumer Property Claims team. You will use your experience in the industry to assist internal stakeholders on residential building matters, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards.

What You'll Do
Provide guidance to internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to building codes, accurate scoping, and effective cost control.
Offer expert advice on repair methodologies, building compliance, and scope assessment.
Collaborate with engineers, geo-technicians, certifiers, specialists, and suppliers to achieve suitable outcomes.
Carry out in office inspections to confirm adherence to the National Construction Code, Australian standards, and to ensure repair standards and workmanship.
Identify risks and potential fraud, ensuring adherence to internal policies and industry regulations.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical training by staying informed on industry standards and developments.
Responsibilities
Provide technical advice on residential building issues, including repairs, rectification works, and compliance matters.
Review scopes of work, quotes, and specialist reports to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
Support stakeholders on complex and major repairs, offering guidance on repair methodology and risk mitigation.
Resolve technical challenges with collaboration from engineers and certifiers.
What You'll Bring
Relevant trade qualification in a repair-related discipline.
Current or expired builder's licence.
Minimum 5+ years in residential building/renovation and estimating.
Strong understanding of residential building codes, standards, and compliance requirements.
Proven experience in scheduling and supervising trades and repairs.
Desirable
Extensive knowledge of the property repair industry and current practices.
