Head of Faculty - Business, Economics and Enterprise
Fixed Term, 5 Year Tenure, Full Time
Commencing 01 January 2026 - 31 December 2030
As Head of Faculty, you will have the responsibility, through engagement with relevant staff and programs, to ensure that students undertaking courses within the Faculty are academically challenged and stimulated in a safe, encouraging learning environment, where students are enthused about their studies and given every opportunity for success. The Head of Faculty leads with initiative and seeks to improve student results using data as a means of intervention and ongoing improvement of learning and Faculty practices.
As the Head of Faculty - Business, Economics and Enterprise you will:
* Lead the vision and strategic direction of the Faculty in alignment with the School's strategic vision within the subject areas of Economics, Business, Accounting and Enterprise
* Model excellence in teaching and learning within the Faculty
* Provide pedagogical, curriculum, staff and administrative leadership for the Faculty
* Establish a learning environment of continuous pedagogical improvement within the Faculty through reflective, shared and evidence-based practice
* Take responsibility for the oversight and execution of the development of band plans, unit plans, and assessment tasks across all year levels according to national, state and local requirements within faculty subjects
* Develop improvement plans for the Faculty from specific feedback and data analysis, including data from the MMG survey, parent, and student feedback
* Develop and publish an Annual Strategic Plan for the Faculty aligned to the School's strategic vision. Support all faculty staff in working towards the outcomes of this plan and provide encouragement for its success
* Mentor and support staff within the Faculty, fostering professional growth and development
* Manage department resources and budgets to ensure the effective delivery of the Business, Economics and Enterprise program
* Build partnerships with industry leaders, universities, and external stakeholders to enhance student learning opportunities and outcomes
* Work with professionalism in supporting the goals and vision of the Principal, demonstrating loyalty to the growth and success of the school.
About You
We are looking for a passionate, forward-thinking leader with a strong background in teaching business, economics and enterprise subject areas. You will have:
* A teaching degree in a relevant discipline (Business, Economics, Enterprise, Accounting or related field)
* Proven leadership experience within an educational institution or similar environment, with a track record of successfully leading teams
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire staff, students, and external partners
* A commitment to promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
* Experience building partnerships with industry, academia, and the wider community to enrich student learning.
The successful applicant must hold Queensland College of Teachers registration and be willing to have their name submitted to the Anglican Church's Professional Standards Register.
