Job Title: Experienced Surface Preparation Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced surface preparation specialist to join our team of professionals. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.
The role includes but is not limited to:
* Understanding Surface Preparation Techniques: The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces for various coatings and materials. This will involve understanding the correct techniques and methods for achieving optimal results.
* Equipment Handling: The candidate must be able to handle all equipment with due care and attention. This includes but is not limited to power tools, wet film thickness gauges, and other specialized equipment.
* Completing Works to Specifications: The surface preparation specialist must be able to understand and complete works to specifications. This involves working closely with other team members to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the required standard.
* Mixing Coatings: The candidate will be responsible for mixing correct ratios of two-part paint coatings etc.
* Selecting Materials: The surface preparation specialist will be required to select paints, varnishes and stains for various surfaces using brushes, sprays, and rollers.
* Using Wet Film Thickness Gauges: The candidate must be able to use wet film thickness gauges and achieve specified dry film thickness.
* Minor Repairs: The successful candidate will be required to carry out minor repairs as needed.
* Working at Heights: The surface preparation specialist must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
* Scaffolding and Ladders: The candidate will be responsible for erecting scaffolding and ladders.
* Cleaning Equipment and Work Areas: The surface preparation specialist must be able to clean equipment and work areas.
To be considered for this role, you must have the following qualifications and skills:
* A Trade Certificate or equivalent (Certificate III in Surface Preparation).
* A High Risk Licence for EWP and/or Forklift.
* Trade Qualifications in Protective Coatings (ACA, NACE, ICorr, or other trade certifications).
* A HR licence, high risk licence with EWP and Forklift.
* A Drivers Licence (MR or HR class).
* Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
* Meeting strict deadlines.
* Strong communication skills.
* Attention to detail.
* Self-motivation, organisation, punctuality, and reliability.
* Good work ethics.
