Overview
CDC are seeking a Special Needs Transit Carer based out of our Alice Springs Depot. This position is responsible for the care, comfort and safety of special needs students while they are travelling on the special needs school bus to and from school.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the Bus Driver to ensure students are picked up and dropped off at their designated pick up/drop off point.
Maintain a daily record of the students' travel, including student behaviour, medical issues enroute etc.
Working hours
The successful candidate must be available to commit to two split shifts daily, working 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon, school days only (average 20 hours per week).
Qualifications & Experience
Working with Children (Ochre) card - required
Current first aid certificate, including CPR - required
Certificate III in early childhood education and care – desired
Experience in a care setting for children with special needs – desired
A Drug & Alcohol screening along with a pre-employment medical will be required for the successful applicants prior to employment.
