Key Responsibilities
* Applying paints, stains, and varnishes as per requirements.
* Prepare work areas by erecting scaffolding and ladders and placing drop sheets to protect surrounding surfaces from paint splatter.
* Remove old paint and wallpaper, repair woodwork, fill holes and cracks, and smooth and seal surfaces in preparation for painting.
* Mix and prepare paints to desired colours by combining pigments, oils, and appropriate thinning or drying agents.
* Apply paints, stains, and varnishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment for a smooth, professional finish.
* Hang wallpaper, align patterns, and neatly trim edges for a polished appearance.
* Clean tools, equipment, and work areas to maintain a tidy and safe work environment.
* Perform minor repairs, including replacing glass in timber or metal frames.
* Lay and repair floor and wall tiles as required.
Requirements
* Minimum 1 - 2 years of experience in painting or related trades
* Certificate III or IV in Painting and Decorating (preferred but not essential)
* Sound knowledge of painting tools, materials, and safety procedures
* Physically fit and able to work on ladders and scaffolds
* Strong attention to detail and time management skills
* Reliable, punctual, and positive attitude
