About The RoleAs an integral member of the Emergency Management unit you will provide high level administrative and planning support, document control and perform comprehensive plan reviews. You will work with a passionate team and key Emergency Management stakeholders across the organisation contributing to valuable work to ensure our community are supported during emergencies.Work type: Temporary Full Time (12 months)Classification: Band 5 Commencing at $78,646 pa plus superKey responsibilities include:Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to the development and maintenance of robust and innovative plans, procedures, systems and templates to support an integrated approach to emergency management capability and capacity.Undertake complex document and records management and version control in a systematic and organised manner.Work with Emergency Management Coordinator & MEMO and key stakeholders on various projects and funding opportunities to introduce measurable improvements before, during and after emergencies.Provide accurate, efficient and effective planning support for emergency management, and the MEMO and MRM when an emergency occurs.Contribute and assist with the development and maintenance of website content, crisisworks and requirements to share planning information through various channels.Perform research projects, interpret legislation and relevant information to assist the Coordinator in making informed decisions as required.About YouThe ideal candidate for this role will have experience working in an Emergency Management environment, with an understanding of project management principles and planning arrangements for emergency management. You will have a keen eye for detail, high levels of problem solving, resilience and the willingness to go the extra mile to achieve targets.Essential Experience:Advance Diploma in Public Safety (Emergency Management) or comprehensive experience relevant to the key responsibilities.Knowledge in Emergency Management (within Local Government context would be highly regarded).Knowledge of the Acts, Regulations and Local Law relevant to the position.Demonstrated ability to proactively drive tasks and projects to achieve key milestones.Past experience in reviewing or assisting to develop plans and procedures.Ability and willingness to embrace innovative technologies, methods, products and processes in the pursuit of continuous improvement.Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).If this sounds like the role for you, then click apply now!Child Safety ResponsibilitiesWe are committed to being a child-safe organisation and have zero-tolerance for child abuse.
