We are looking for a full-time, experienced and cheerful Senior Medical Secretary to join our orthopaedic surgery practice. 9 day fortnight and flexible work arrangements open for discussion.
Our office consists of one busy hand and upper limb surgeon and three medical secretaries. You will be an integral part of our team
The role involves the coordination and management of all aspects of the practice.
Joondalup based, with some clinics run through Claremont.
About you
* Experience as a medical secretary, preferably in a specialist practice (orthopaedic knowledge is advantageous)
* Experience with Medical Software ( Gentu, Genie or cloud-based preferred)
* Solid understanding of Medical Billing, Workers Compensation, Public Hospital billings and DVA
* Ability to deal with many tasks at once and work well under pressure.
* Ability to adjust and adapt to practice requirements
* Provides excellent customer service to patients, other providers and hospital staff
* Ability to think proactively and have forward-thinking and planning skills regarding upcoming clinics and practice requirements
* Maintains a high level of written and verbal communication skills. This includes a professional telephone manner and written email communications.

Job Duties
This role involves helping run and coordinate all aspects of the practice. The role includes:
* Preparing and running busy clinics
* Liaising with GPs, Specialists, Radiology Providers, and Allied Health Professionals, especially Occupational Therapists
* Scheduling surgery bookings and theatre lists
* Receiving and following up incoming referrals
* Managing billings and in-house payments
* Medical typing
* Meeting/greeting of patients
* Answering phones and making appointments
* Training and mentoring junior staff
* Scanning/entering clinical data
* Management of computerised diary
* Management of on-call rosters across several hospitals
* Managing staff leave calendar
