* This is a Lecturer (Livestock Science) position available for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the well-established livestock science group.
The successful applicant will have a strong track record of original research and/or industry impact in agriculture relevant to the position, including high-quality publications as lead author.
They will also have experience with designing and leading field studies within both intensive and extensive sheep and cattle production systems, as well as a commitment to high-quality teaching with a willingness to develop curriculum and a commitment to continuous improvement and enhancement of student experience.
About The Area
The School of Agriculture and Environment spans three broad disciplines: Agricultural and Resource Economics; Agricultural Science, Technology and Engineering; and Environmental Science.
The successful candidate will contribute to high-impact research and quality teaching, developing research collaborations, and applying for funding, within the broad area of the adaptation of livestock systems to a changing environment.
About You
To be considered for this role, you should hold a PhD in animal science or a related relevant discipline, and have a sound knowledge and understanding of the ruminant microbiome, genetic strategies to improve livestock resilience, biology of livestock adaptation and a demonstrated conceptual knowledge of ruminant production system.
You should also possess excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

This full-time appointment on a tenurable basis offers the opportunity to develop and deliver high-quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, and to apply for funding within the broad area of the adaptation of livestock systems to a changing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Developing and delivering high-quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
* Developing research collaborations, and applying for funding, within the broad area of the adaptation of livestock systems to a changing environment.
* Building and maintaining a strong working relationship with producers, agri-industry groups, national and international collaborators.
* Serving as a mentor and supervisor to students and staff.
