Affiliated with the renowned Exercise Medicine Research Institute (EMRI) at Edith Cowan University, Vario Health Clinic stands at the forefront of pioneering knowledge, research and clinical practice where our allied health services promote exercise as a core component of healthcare for complex and chronic conditions.

The Exercise Medicine Research Institute houses an innovative, multi-disciplinary and productive world leading research team in exercise science dedicated to investigating the extent to which exercise can be employed in chronic disease management, principally cancer, to materially improve patient outcomes.

Vario Health Clinic is the dedicated clinical space of the Institute and provides research-informed, best practice allied health services and programs to the public, representing the seamless integration of research and practical application in the field of exercise medicine.

About the OpportunityAn exciting opportunity is now available for a Clinic Supervisor to join our newly established Vario Health Clinic based at ECU Southwest Campus in Bunbury. Supported by management at Joondalup Campus, the Southwest Clinic Supervisor will oversee the startup and development of the new facility and associated services of this expansion initiative. This is a dynamic hands-on role that encompasses the development and delivery of exercise programs and the supervision of a team of practitioners as the business grows.

The successful candidate will be an Accredited Exercise Physiologist who in addition to overseeing day to day clinical operations, will deliver hands on Exercise Physiology services. This is an excellent career opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Exercise Physiologist, with a passion to lead and manage a new business location from start-up phase, supported by a world leading research institute and a talented team of researchers and practitioners.

Responsibilities

* Coordinate business start-up operations, fully supported by EMRI and ECU personnel and departments.
* Actively develop and nurture local referral networks.
* Coordinate, implement and deliver exercise interventions and rehabilitation consultations to clients.
* Implement effective scheduling of programs, facilities, people whilst ensuring optimal efficiency and program sustainability.
* As operations grow, supervise other team members including exercise physiologists, administration staff and practicum students.
* Ensure all compliance requirements are met for the Clinic and all activities within it; and for all interventions within the clinic by keeping up to date with requirements and ensuring appropriate actions (including risk assessment and management) are undertaken to meet these compliance requirements.
* Responsible for all activities related to facility equipment / asset maintenance.
* Delivery of the business plan whilst identifying and implementing continuous improvement strategies.

About youYou will have:

* Completed the relevant tertiary qualification and be registered and accredited as an Exercise Physiologist with Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA) as well as registration with Medicare and the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Provider.
* A minimum of 5 years industry-based experience and the ability to contribute to the development of the research profile of the Institute.
* Experience in designing, developing, implementing, facilitating and coordinating exercise physiology programs and consulting on an individual and group basis. You will have detailed knowledge of the public and private health context of allied health services and in particular, intervention, in Western Australia.
* Experience in planning and delivering exercise intervention programs and services to meet the needs of our diverse clients.
* Proven experience of leading a team, ideally in a similar environment.
