Overview
At CDC Northern Territory, casual employment doesn't mean short-term thinking. Many of our drivers join us casually and stay for years — building experience, upgrading licences, and becoming a valued part of our depot teams. We operate essential transport services across Darwin, Humpty Doo, Jabiru, Batchelor and Alice Springs. While we're proud to be part of a global transport group, our focus in the Territory is local — supporting communities, investing in people, and doing work that matters.
Casual role. Long-term relationship.
These roles are casual, but the work itself is ongoing and reliable. Our services run year-round, and many of our casual drivers enjoy consistent work across school terms, urban services, charter work, events and contracts.
* Stay with us long term
* Build skills and confidence
* Progress your licences and endorsements
* Become a trusted, experienced driver within our operation
Start where you are — we'll support your development
You don't need to arrive fully qualified. We're committed to developing our drivers over time and will support you with:
* Licence upgrades where required
* Support to obtain your H endorsement
* Ongoing, paid on-the-job training
* Opportunities to build experience across different services
Even if you've never driven a bus before, we'll pay you while training you to become a confident, safe and professional driver in our fleet.
Flexible work that fits your life
Our casual drivers value the ability to choose work that suits their lifestyle while still having access to regular opportunities.
You may choose to:
* Work school runs during term time
* Pick up urban route driving
* Support charter, event and contract work
* Increase or adjust hours over time
Many drivers start with limited availability and gradually build their hours as confidence and capability grow. You'll be driving a modern, well-maintained and air-conditioned fleet, supported by strong safety systems and a team that genuinely values your contribution.
About you
We're looking for people who value reliability, professionalism and community connection — and who are open to developing their skills over time.
You'll need:
* A Northern Territory driver's licence with a good driving record
* An MR or HR licence, or willingness to obtain one
* An H endorsement, or willingness to obtain one
* A current Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card), or willingness to obtain one
* A friendly, respectful manner and confidence interacting with people of all ages and abilities
Previous bus or heavy vehicle experience is welcome but not essential — attitude and commitment matter most.
Join us for the journey
