The role
The software development manager is responsible for day to day leadership and management of the development team, and ensuring that the division delivers against the key targets. You will be supported by a small, high-performing team of software developers that are passionate about their product.
The role would suit a self-starter who is comfortable working with a remote team of software developers and senior executives. You will need in-depth knowledge of the SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and program/project management. Experience of.Net development and SaaS/Mobile Apps would be an advantage.
**Responsibilities**:
Team leadership
- provide leadership and guidance to a remote team.
- delegate tasks effectively, ensuring optimal use of team resources
- provide constructive feedback and support professional development
Product development
- work with product management to define the roadmap and prioritise features
- coordinate release activities, including testing deployment ad release documentation
- work with tech writing resources to ensure that manuals and other documentation is up to date
- Gather user input and market requirements from internal stakeholders and end-users to generate use cases and functional specifications that will improve the product and maintain a competitive edge
Technical leadership
- Provide technical expertise to the development team, and contribute to architectural decisions
- Identify technical debt and suggest improvements to eliminate issues
- Drive innovation and constant improvement
- Contribute to code as required.
