About the role
Are you looking for a casual role that provides flexibility to enjoy a balance between work and everyday life? Then the team at Walgett MPS want you! We are looking for Hospital Assistants to help the Nursing staff with non-medical duties including housekeeping, portering patients, food preparation and general assistance. As an integral member of our team you will be valued and your dedication will be seen and appreciated by your community, patients, residents and your team.
This varied and interesting role which may include transferring patients within the hospital, linen maintenance & medical supply restocking, cooking and/or preparing light refreshments of patients and residents, general cleaning as required including rooms and equipment, and assisting generally as directed by nursing staff. You will also play an integral role in creating a home like environment for our residents.
You will need to be reliable, punctual and energetic, physically fit, have a caring and supportive attitude and use your good communication skills to be able to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Remaining calm in emergencies and the capability to handle equipment such as wheelchairs, beds and other medical equipment is also valued.
