Portland District Health (PDH) provides integrated healthcare and services in the Glenelg Shire in the rural City of Portland in cooperation with other regional health services. Situated in the South West of Victoria, Portland has the charm of a large country town, set by the sea, with all the modern amenities. Located about 370 kilometres from Melbourne, PDH has a long and proud history of servicing this community. Around 435 dedicated staff provide a range of services across acute, primary health and aged residential care services.
The Executive Director Medical Services (EDMS) ensures patient safety at PDH by ensuring that: PDH's Clinical Governance framework, systems, and processes align with best practice and are measured and monitored for compliance with the NSQHS Standards; and that PDH maintains a sustainable and competent medical workforce, supported by a robust credentialing system and clearly defined scopes of practice that reflect each doctor's skills and the service's capabilities.
To be considered for this role, you will hold tertiary medical qualifications and current registration with AHPRA together with RACMA fellowship (or progress toward fellowship) and/or relevant post graduate management studies. You will have had substantial clinical experience consistent with a senior leadership role in the public health sector and have proven experience in workforce development and management, and strategic service planning.
