The Motor Trade Association of SA/NT (MTA) is the peak employer organisation dedicated to protecting and growing the retail, service and repair sector for the South Australian and Northern Territory automotive industry. With revenue circa $30m, over 1,300 members and 80 staff, the MTA is a valued business partner of the industry delivering a wide range of services to its members. A Registered Training Organisation and one of the largest training providers for automotive apprentices, the MTA delivers both accredited and non-accredited training to over 900 apprentices and numerous qualified technicians.
Due to the internal promotion of the incumbent General Manager to the CEO position, the opportunity has arisen for an accomplished leader to join the Senior Leadership Team, working closely with the CEO and the Board. The role provides the strategic leadership of the RTO including all aspects of corporate planning, operations, scheduling, compliance, customer experience and systems. Key areas of responsibility include:
- strategic development and delivery of financially viable and customer-oriented training services;
- management of budgeting, revenue streams, efficiency measures and financial performance reporting;
- compliance and quality assurance ensuring adherence to all legislative, regulatory and funding requirements;
- leadership, guidance, motivation and mentoring of managers and teams to ensure a positive culture and purpose objectives;
- relationship management to ensure the best experience for students, hosts, industry and a wide range of other stakeholders.
Applications are encouraged from appropriately qualified professionals with experience managing comparable senior and diverse portfolios. Commercial and business acumen, strategic planning capability, stakeholder management and proven ability as a strong, engaged, visible and collaborative manager will be key qualities for success in this position. While advantageous, experience in training and apprenticeship fields is not considered a pre-requisite. The primary selection criteria is general management qualities.
