Contract Length: Fixed term till 30 June 2027
Remuneration: $110,000 to $120,000 per annum (excluding superannuation)

The National Indigenous Employment and Training Alliance (The Alliance) is a newly established peak body representing the Indigenous employment and training sector across Australia. As a peak body, we advocate for systemic change, building strategic partnerships and deliver evidence-based Indigenous-led solutions to drive long-term impact. The Alliance was born from a shared vision to address critical gaps in support, advocacy and representation with the sector. Role Overview
The Communication and Content Development Lead will play a vital role in advancing The Alliance’s mission by creating and managing clear, engaging content that tells our story, influences national conversation, and strengthens our role as an advocate for systemic change. Reporting to the General Manager Performance and Impact, this role is responsible for developing communications and resources suitable for the sector, industry and government stakeholders such as newsletters, website, social media, reports, and training resources, while also contributing to projects, events, and media. Working closely with the internal teams and partners, the position ensures all outputs are culturally grounded, strategically aligned and meet the evolving needs of the sector, with a strong commitment to advancing systemic change and delivering measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the drafting and editing of high-quality content across newsletters, social media, website, reports, and stakeholder updates, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and cultural integrity.
- Create and refine educational resources, guides, and tools that translate complex information into engaging, user-friendly materials to strengthen sector knowledge.
- Coordinate communications schedules and content calendars, ensuring consistent, timely updates aligned with organisational priorities.
- Provide communications support for national projects and events, including media releases, invitations, briefing notes, and member stories that raise the Alliance’s profile.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years’ experience in a communications, content, or media role, ideally in a membership, policy, or NFP setting
- Equivalent work experience in communications, content development, or media will be highly regarded.
- Relevant qualifications in communications, media, journalism, or a related field
- Experience in the employment and training sector
