This is a key leadership role reporting to the Director Corporate & Community. You will be instrumental in managing the strategic direction of Council's IT and driving innovative improvements that enhance business performance.

Key responsibilities include:
* Strategic Leadership: Implementing and reviewing the IT Strategy, driving digital transformation through automation and cloud-based solutions, and preparing business cases for sound ICT investment.
* Operational Management: Overseeing all ICT operations, including infrastructure, networks, applications, and vendor performance, ensuring reliability and high performance.
* Governance & Security: Developing and overseeing a comprehensive cybersecurity and information governance strategy to ensure compliance and resilience against modern threats.
* Team Development: Leading, mentoring, and developing a technical team (including Systems Manager, Network Engineer, Records Officers, and GIS Officer) to align capability with strategic goals.
* Project Delivery: Leading ICT and digital transformation projects using structured methodologies, delivering within scope, budget, and timeframes.

Essential Criteria:
* Degree-level (or higher) qualifications in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, combined with extensive experience in a senior ICT leadership role.
* Demonstrated technical expertise across essential ICT areas (networks, cloud, security, disaster recovery, enterprise applications).
* Comprehensive knowledge of compliance requirements.
* Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop staff to achieve high-performance results.
* Strong experience in budget management, strategic planning, and risk mitigation.
Experience within a Local Government setting or with systems like Civica/Authority, CRM, and Content Manager is highly desirable.
