Learn more at www.pavion.comJob Opening: Systems TechnicianPavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Systems Technician to join our security business unit.Primary Responsibilities:Perform low voltage cable installation, cable management, cable terminations, device installation, and other assigned project duties as required.Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair systems and/or equipment as necessary.Produce accurate documentation for the project including system commissioning reports, Test Reports, As builts, system certification, etc.Provide daily project status updates and communicate with the Project Management team.Summarize, report, and present non-compliant attributes of a project, site, or system.Make accurate decisions based on personal and professional judgment and verifiable criteria.Lead/manage medium to large-sized Mission Critical projects independently.Read and interpret project scopes, one-lines, floor plans, submittals, specifications, test reports, and other documentation.Communicate proficiently, especially in occupied and sensitive environments.Follow cabling best practices—running, supporting, and terminating category-rated and multiconductor cabling.Be certified in Fire Stopping and able to fire-stop penetrations.Have a basic understanding of computers, Microsoft Windows applications, and networking concepts.Configure and troubleshoot device connectivity (LAN and Internet).Use low voltage crimp tools, testing tools, and other construction-related tools proficiently.Demonstrate persistence, tactfulness, responsibility, and confidentiality.Provide excellent customer service using active listening and empathy.Work well independently and as part of a team.Basic Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent.4-6 years' experience in installing and commissioning low voltage/data communication systems including security, A/V, and wireless communication.OSHA 10 certification.MA State A-License (Master Electrician) or B-License (Journeyman).Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and acceptable driving record.Ability to travel throughout New England (RI, MA, NH, ME).Availability to work off-hours and participate in on-call rotations.Preferred Qualifications:MA State D-License.Experience with integrated security control systems in detention facilities, prisons, courts, etc.Industry or manufacturer certifications.RI State TST Data Licensing.RI State Master or Journeyman License.Firestop Certification (Hilti or 3M).Boom and scissor lift certification.Starting pay is in the mid $30s/hour, commensurate with experience.This job description is not exhaustive and may be revised.
