HumeLink West Project
Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.
About HumeLink
HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia's eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.
The Opportunity
Please note this role will initially be based in Sydney, with transition into a site delivery role requiring DIDO/FIFO or relocation where additional allowances will apply.
Key Accountabilities
* Developing detailed electrical designs, specifications, and technical documentation to meet project requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client expectations.
* Lead the delivery of Electrical Engineering activities across all project phases, including procurement, installation, testing and commissioning, quality, and schedule objectives.
* Collaborate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to align project deliverables, address technical queries, and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
* Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies, while resolving technical challenges that arise during project execution.
* Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior engineers, ensuring high-quality outcomes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
About You
* A degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
* Extensive experience in Electrical Project Engineering, preferably within transmission and substations, large infrastructure or energy sectors.
* Proficiency in electrical design, power systems, and relevant engineering standards, with experience in managing HV/LV systems and commissioning activities.
* Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including planning, resource allocation, budget management, and schedule tracking.
* Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards, with certifications such as HV Switching, White Card or other relevant safety and technical qualifications.
