Our reporters write digital articles and make audio and video packages for radio, TV and the ABC’s online audience. Centred on the garrison city of Townsville, the news patch extends north to Cardwell on the Cassowary Coast, south to the tropical fruit bowl of Bowen and west to Hughenden on the Australian Dinosaur Trail. Encompassing reef, tropical islands, rich Indigenous culture, military, marine science, national sporting teams, mining, and crocodiles - it really is the best news patch in the country.
