About the role:
* Assist young people in developing living and life skills.
* Model and reinforce positive behaviour through social learning, responsibility, and emotional intelligence.
* Promote democracy and support young people's participation in decision-making processes.
* Support children and young people in accommodation services, including household duties such as cleaning, shopping, and meal preparation.
The ITC system aims to:
* Provide Therapeutic Care
* Focus on recovery from trauma
* Offer an alternative to long-term residential care
* Enhance safety and protection for children and young people
* Facilitate pathways to less intensive services and permanency
* Expand placement options to improve outcomes in mental health, physical health, and education
Primary objectives:
* Deliver trauma-informed services that yield positive outcomes for young people and families.
* Ensure safety, stability, and predictability by implementing house guidelines and individual strategies.
* Participate in team, house, and case review meetings to meet young people's needs.
Key selection criteria:
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* A Diploma of Youth Work, Community Services, or equivalent qualification.
* Experience or willingness to participate in training for Aboriginal staff, with a qualification being desirable.
* Experience in youth services, residential care, or supported accommodation.
* Understanding of Aboriginal culture, values, and current issues faced by Aboriginal children and families.
* Experience working therapeutically with children and young people facing significant challenges and trauma.
You must have or be willing to obtain:
* Valid and current Driver's License
* Satisfactory Criminal History Check
* Valid Working with Children Check
* Valid and current NDIS Worker Screening Check
