In this role, you'll:
Drive the architecture, design, and development of cutting‑edge rail Ethernet/IP, MPLS, and data network solutions. This role places you at the centre of delivering high‑performance, high‑reliability network designs that keep major rail operations moving.
You'll provide expert technical direction, ensuring every design meets strict safety, integrity, capacity, and performance requirements. With responsibility for end‑to‑end design quality, you will guide optimal solutions, verify technical work, and support timely, on‑budget project delivery across complex rail environments.

About you
1. Degree in IT, Electrical, or Telecommunications Engineering (Engineers Australia eligible) or equivalent experience in rail telecoms design.
2. Strong experience designing Ethernet/IP, MPLS, and critical operational data networks.
3. Knowledge of Network Management Systems, network security, and integration across complex telecom environments.
4. Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Up‑to‑date understanding of IP technologies and emerging data network trends.
6. Practical experience in Configuration Management for operational networks.
7. Background in Project Engineering within IT or Telecommunications projects.
